This short film from The Hire series begins on a dark freeway, when a van swerves close to The Driver and the door slides open. From inside, masked gunmen threaten to fire unless The Driver stops and surrenders his passenger, a seemingly harmless man they accuse of smuggling diamonds. It’s a simple choice: do or die. Legendary director John Frankenheimer and star Clive Owen combine talents to create a dramatic chase with some unexpected twists.
This episode features a BMW 740i (E38) and stars Tomas Milian. It was written by Andrew Kevin Walker and directed by John Frankenheimer. I remember watching it for the first time 20 years ago. Now there is a new, higher quality version of it online. Check out the 4K remaster here.
